I am a Girl Wrap Up - 11th July 2024

'I Am a Girl' - 11th July 2024 Wrap Up!

On the 11th of July 2024, the Kevin Betts Stadium in Mt. Druitt buzzed with energy and enthusiasm as over 40 participants gathered for the Basketball NSW and City of Blacktown Basketball Association's 'I Am a Girl' program. This empowering initiative aimed to inspire and develop young female athletes, fostering their skills and passion for basketball.

The day was filled with engaging activities, skill-building sessions, and some freebies — promoting women's basketball. Participants had the opportunity to learn new techniques, improve their game, and connect with peers who share their love for the sport.

The event highlighted the importance of providing platforms for young girls to excel in sports, promoting confidence, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle. The overwhelming participation and positive feedback from attendees underscored the success of the program and its significant impact on the community.

A heartfelt thank you to all the Adam McIntyre and Rachel Herrick who made this day possible. The IAAG program is a Basketball NSW initiative that collaborates with Associations (such as CBBA) to promote female participation in Basketball. CBBA have a commitment to providing girls and women with opportunities to be involved in the game of basketball, with the Blacktown LGA.

We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future, continuing to support and uplift the next generation of female basketball athletes in Blacktown.
