The Blacktown Storm Program
Blacktown Storm is the City of Blacktown’s representative basketball team competing in Basketball NSW’s Waratah Junior and Senior Leagues. The Storm Program provides basketball athletes with the opportunity to compete at a high level, play against the best in the NSW and train with experienced and qualified coaches. The program is set up to enhance players' skills and confidence in sports and guide them to their basketball goals.
Teams are selected yearly with trials held in October for the following year. A typical season will see Storm athletes start training 1-2 times a week in late November, pre-season in February and the season from March to July/August. Our home games are played at Kevin Betts Stadium in Mt Druitt. Home games account for about 50% of the season while the remaining games will involve travel to stadiums around Sydney Metro and occasionally Regional NSW.
Blacktown Storm has a storied history of success winning several State and Metro titles since 2008. We pride ourselves in providing our athletes with a safe and fair environment to allow them to achieve their best. We credit the Storm Program’s success to the commitment shown by our players, parents, coaches and volunteers.
