CBBA’s Starting Lineup Grows: Welcoming Shaun Bernaldo and Leaf Newman
The City of Blacktown Basketball Association (CBBA) is thrilled to welcome two new members to our staff team! Shaun Bernaldo will join us as the Representative Coordinator, and Leaf Newman steps into the role of Competitions Coordinator.
These additions mark an exciting step forward for CBBA as we continue to grow and enhance our programs for players, families, and the wider basketball community.
Shaun Bernaldo – Representative Coordinator (he/him)
Shaun brings a wealth of experience and a passion for basketball to his role as Representative Coordinator. A dedicated leader, Shaun has been instrumental in managing and coordinating programs at Kevin Betts Stadium, fostering a strong connection with the local basketball community.
Currently pursuing his Bachelor of Business at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Shaun combines academic excellence with practical experience, making him a valuable asset to CBBA. His commitment to fostering talent and supporting athletes will be key in ensuring the success of our Representative Program as we gear up for the new season.
Shaun’s approachable nature and leadership skills align perfectly with CBBA’s mission to nurture and grow the love of basketball in our community. We are excited to see Shaun make an immediate impact in guiding our representative athletes and coaches.
Leaf Newman – Competitions Coordinator (she/they)
Leaf joins us as Competitions Coordinator, bringing a unique blend of experience and creativity to the role. Having led the Senior Competitions Program at Basketball NSW (BNSW) and served as a Match Day Manager for the National Basketball League (NBL), Leaf is well-versed in the intricacies of organising high-level competitions.
In addition to her operational expertise, Leaf has a passion for graphic design and has extensive experience in creating engaging visuals for the basketball community. Her well-rounded skill set ensures that CBBA competitions will not only run smoothly but also be presented in a way that excites and engages players and spectators alike.
Leaf’s enthusiasm for competitions and dedication to creating an inclusive and professional environment will help CBBA continue to thrive, offering opportunities for everyone to enjoy basketball at all levels.
